Coinciding with SM Supermall’s 30th Anniversary Celebration
Manila, 20-October-2015: Instagram’ers Manila or IGersManila Philippines, the global community for Filipino Instagram’ers (or IGers, pronounced ay-ji-ers) and Phoneographers, is once again celebrating Filipino visual artistry with the 4TH PHILIPPINE INSTAGRAM PHOTO EXHIBIT #IGMNL #pipe4, a 4-month long series of Instagram’ing activities that culminates into an exhibit from October 24 to 30, 2015, in partnership with SM City North EDSA, Smart Communications, and Storytell Prints, supported by Power Mac Center and Valda Pilipinas.
Coinciding with SM Supermall’s 30th Anniversary Celebration, the exhibit melds portraiture and street phoneography – a collection of visual stories snapped at SM City North EDSA’s famous locations – that highlight the Filipino malling lifestyle.
Launched last June 2015, qualifiers were picked and shortlisted from the #KalyePH #KalyePH2015 submissions on Instagram, who later participated in three separate batches of photowalks held every month from July to September, covering SM City North EDSA’s various Instagram’able locations such as the City Center, Skygarden, The Block, The Annex, and Transport Terminal. IGers got to sample sumptuously-Instagram’able meals served by Zark’s Burgers and Yoshinoya before each photowalk, converging later for dinner hosted by Smart.
Finalists will be unveiled at the opening ceremonies this Saturday October 24, 2015 1:00pm to 5:00pm at the Upper Ground Floor, The Annex, SM City North EDSA. Voting for Shoppers’ Choice and Exhibitors’ Choice Awards will be done the same day, while other awards will be announced at #IGnite2015 on December 5, 2015. The exhibit will be open to the public from October 24 to 30, 2015.
From our very first exhibit of Instagram’able landmarks in Manila at Glorietta 4 in Makati City in 2012, then a grand instameet-exhibit of freestyle street imagery at The Pavilion, Ilustrata Residences in Quezon City in 2013, to a showcase of black and white canvases initially at A Space Manila, and later moving to BW Plus Antel Hotel in Makati City last 2014, we aim at sharing Instagrams that keep visual stories interesting, attempt to frame social interaction, leave lasting and remarkable impression, yield illustrious reality, and evoke sentiments – thus the continuing theme of “KALYE.”
